MorningStar Farms® Launches X Chefs Collection Campaign

Chef Dan Snowden of Bad Hunter Creates First Series of Craveable Recipes

ELMHURST, IL, Dec. 13, 2019 – MorningStar Farms® announced the launch of the “MorningStar Farms® X Chefs Collection,” a chef collaboration that inspires plant-based culinary creations using MorningStar Farms® vast portfolio in unexpected and trend-worthy ways. As the number one plant-based protein in foodservice1, MorningStar Farms® enlisted Executive Chef Dan Snowden of Chicago’s Bad Hunter and Pizza Lobo restaurants. Chef Snowden used his highly respected culinary talents to create the first collection of plant-based protein recipes for each meal occasion. These recipes can be used as inspiration for menu creations featuring products from the expansive MorningStar Farms® portfolio. The MorningStar Farms® X Chefs Collection will tap other award-winning chefs throughout 2020.

“I pride myself on incorporating the best ingredients when putting together craveable menu items at my vegetable-forward restaurant, Bad Hunter,” said chef Dan Snowden. “I have been a fan of MorningStar Farms® since my mom was serving up their grillers, so I was really excited to put my culinary skills to the test and to be part of this campaign.”

Chef Snowden used his culinary artistry to develop innovative menu ideas for each meal occasion – like a Fennel Gratin Pizza topped with MorningStar Farms® Italian Sausage Style Crumbles. This creation is now a featured menu item deemed “Anise?! Nice.” at Chicago’s West Loop eatery, Pizza Lobo. It is also available for delivery in Chicago at https://www.trycaviar.com/m/pizza-lobo-12450.

Chef Snowden’s other mind-blowing, veggie-forward recipe creations include: Arepa De Huevo with MorningStar Farms® Veggie Breakfast Sausage Patties and Cotija; Korean Scallion and Kimchi Pancakes with MorningStar Farms® Chorizo Crumbles and Honey-Soy Dipping Sauce; Pueblan-Style Cemita with MorningStar Farms® Chipotle Black Bean Burger and Morita Chile Aioli; MorningStar Farms® Meat Lovers Burger with Crispy Shoestring Parsnips and Truffle Yuzu Dressing; and MorningStar Farms® Spicy Red Bean Kofte Kebabs with Pomegranate-Sumac Glaze.

MorningStar Farms® X Chefs Campaign formalizes our ongoing commitment to help chefs reimagine the veggie experience through the creation of menu items with a taste and texture that customers want,” said Dara Schuster, Marketing Director, Veggie Portfolio, Kellogg. “We brought that commitment to life earlier this year when we teamed up with Nation’s Restaurant News ‘MenuMasters Innovator of the Year’ and three-time James Beard Award-winner, Executive Chef, Paul Kahan. His team demonstrated their culinary artistry by creating the exclusive MorningStar Farms® Chorizo Taco using MorningStar Farms® Chorizo Crumbles as a key ingredient. Chef Kahan’s menu creation debuted at the National Restaurant Association (NRA) Show in May 2019.”

Chef Dan Snowden’s recipe collection, with accompanying videos, can be accessed at kelloggsspecialtychannels.com/Home/MSFxChefs/ and will be shared on @KelloggsAwayFromHome social media channels, as well as through print and online media.
